So what is Pilates?
Pilates is a tried and true exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates during World War II. Originally, he called his exercise motif “contrology” which operated under six core principles: Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow. Pilates is a progressive exercise system that allows everyone from beginners to advanced athletes to benefit from its work in the body.
Who can participate in pilates?
The beauty of pilates is that most people can participate in some form of pilates. The more injured you are, the more care and specialized training it takes. As your pilates care provider, I am committed to working with you to design a program appropriate for your needs. I will be working along side a physical therapist and a medical doctor to properly design a program for you, if your situation requires it.
